Serving the Community

We again held PSA Testing sessions for men on October 21st 2023 and over 800 men were tested: please see here for details.

If you are new to Lionism, through these pages you will be able to find out about the work of the international organisation of Lions and our Lions Club in particular.

You may have come to this website after visiting our very popular Book Den: see details here about this.

If you are a Lion, and perhaps planning to visit our area, we hope that the information on our website will encourage you to visit us.

Our 'Search for a Star' contest was a great success again. Our winner was cool, calm, suave George Stathakis! See our Facebook page and full details in the local press and Mid Sussex Radio!

On Saturday 13 August, the Town Centre was in full swing for 'Lions Town Centre Day'! The Burgess Hill District Lions kindly sponsored a fantastic day of family fun on Church Walk, with a host of community stalls, fun games and arts and crafts workshops, all organised by Burgess Hill Town Council. Pop on down from 10am to 2pm to be part of the fun! Go head-to-head on the fabulous 'Strike a light' game, or unleash your inner artist in the Theatre Club with crafts from Burgess Hill Youth and Fish and Bricks! This won't be an event you'll want to miss out on. See our Facebook page for pictures.

The International Association of Lions Clubs was founded in America in 1917. So 2017 was the Centenary of Lions Clubs International and all Lions Clubs put on events to celebrate this centenary - see our Club's event here.

Burgess Hill District Lions won an award in October 2021 for its work internationally in support of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) for 2020-2021. See the press release here.

Burgess Hill District Lions Club is part of the Multiple District 105 that covers Great Britain and all of Ireland. We are one of over 80 clubs in the South East of England that make up District 105SE.

We celebrated our 65th Year in 2020! Click here to read more about this. One of our most distinguished members, David Saunders, was awarded the MBE for his services to charity in the 2007 New Year Honours List and was visited by the Lions International President Wing Kun Tam in March 2012 to give him the International President's Award for 60 years of Service to Lionism.
