Burns Night Dinner

Burns Night is on 25th January and we normally have a gathering on the nearest Sunday to this - currently at the Sportsmans Pub in Goddards Green.  They put on a fantastic meal with all the correct procedure!

The next Burns Night Dinner will be on 29th January 2017 with the following menu:

 BURNS NIGHT MENU

Starter

 Cup of white onion, scotch cheddar & cider soup fresh bread (v)

 

Intermediate

Traditional Haggis, Neaps’ & Tatties

Or

Vegetarian Haggis Neaps’ & Tatties (v)

or

Scottish cheddar & fig tartlet on honey & walnut salad (v)

(an option for those who may decide to indulge in haggis for a main course instead!)


Main

Red wine, shallot & thyme braised beef topped with a horseradish suet dumpling

Or

        Roast breast of chicken with crispy pancetta, sautéed peas & parmentiere potatoes

Wild mushroom, shallot & tarragon cream

Or

Char-grilled tuna loin steak

Sautéed potatoes, wilted spinach & peppercorn cream sauce

Or

Rosemary roasted sweet potato & butternut squash crumble (v)

with wilted spinach, parsnip, cashew nuts & parmesan

 

Traditional haggis, neaps & tatties can be served as a main course option if preferred…

all served with family service selection of green beans, carrots & babycorn

 

Dessert

 

Whisky, chocolate & orange roularde with clementines & whipped Chantilly cream

Or

Warm sticky toffee pudding, whisky & toffee caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream  

Or

Scottish cheese selection with oatcakes, pickled walnuts & ale chutney

 

Freshly Brewed Coffee or Tea with Chocolate Mints - & perhaps a scotch or two?
