Fundraising
Burgess Hill District Lions Club depends on many different activities to fund all its welfare projects. One large on-going activity is the "Book Den" - the second hand book shop in the town centre (99 Church Walk) where anyone is welcome to bring their old books, CDs, Videos and DVDs. We will sort them and throw out any unwanted ones.
The Book Den is open six days a week and is a very popular venue in the town. It's also the final re-cycling place for books as the paper cannot easily be re-cycled. Please come along and browse.
There are numerous events held all year to raise funds, including those linked to the Burgess Hill Summer Festival and the Burgess Hill Bike Ride which we run in conjunction with the Round Table. This has both 20 and 40 mile routes and always attracts a good many riders, raising much money for their own as well as our causes. Click here for more details and pictures.
This year we again ran our incredible popular Wilbury Jam Concert. Proceeds went towards a defibrillator for Burgess Hill Railway Station.
Every Christmas we do door-to-door collecting in Burgess Hill, Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint with Santa's milk float - a welcome sight for all! This, together with Santa's Grotto and other events, raises much needed money for our Welfare Activities.
Look through the items on the left for more details of our Fundraising Activities. You, too, could join in!
