All members of our Club are all very friendly: we are a group of fun loving people who enjoy raising funds to help
others. We have been dubbed 'Middle-aged Kids' by some.
Our current membership totals 36 and the Club has enjoyed good numbers since its formation in 1953.
We have at present 10 female members, which is around one third of our current active membership, and we welcome both
sexes at our meetings.
We have 2 long serving members who have served the community for very many years: our Charter President David
Saunders who has 55 years in Lionism behind him and Harry Addison who is in his 54th year.
At the other end of the scale we have a few members who have recently joined and they are, hopefully, the future of
the Club.
We meet twice a month on Monday evenings. The first meeting is held on the 1st Monday which is a Dinner meeting.
The second meeting is on the 3rd Monday which is a Business meeting where we submit reports, and consider requests
for help or assistance and discuss the forthcoming activities of the Club.
All our meetings are jovial with a certain amount of friendly banter between members
which is kept in check by our President.
The subscription to our Club is £50 per year - paid in two instalments in December and June - which covers the
running costs of the Club and our dues to Lions District and Lions International. For just £1 a week you can be part
of an International organisation which is the largest voluntary service organisation in the world.
If you feel this is the sort of organisation that you would like to be involved with then please contact the
Membership Secretary
to find out more, or to ask any questions that you may have regarding joining our fun loving Club.
